CUPA PIZARRAS covers the largest railway station in Denmark
CUPA 12 natural slate covers the Copenhagen Central Railway Station (Denmark), located in the western part of the city center. The timeless and elegant touch of CUPA PIZARRAS slate makes it the perfect choice for this roof renovation.
A CONTEMPORARY LOOK
The 100-year-old Copenhagen Central Railway Station in Denmark has an interesting combination of styles. The station was built in 1911, and since then, it has undergone several major changes. Actually, the building as we know it nowadays is the third station built on the site (the two previous structures were made of wood).
During the last renovation, carried out between 2004 and 2008, the roof was replaced with CUPA PIZARRAS natural slate and some platforms were lowered in order to comply with international standards. The towers and the bridge over the platforms of the main building were also refurbished.
This project needed 4,500 m2 of our CUPA 12, size 60x30 and rectangular format. It is a dark grey slate form our Spanish quarry La Campa, in Folgoso del Caurel (Lugo) with a smooth surface and split to an average thickness of 5-6 mm.
