CUPA PIZARRAS natural slate: beauty and warmth to Cedar Park development in Ireland

CUPA NATURAL SLATE

CUPA PIZARRAS covers Cedar Park, a development of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses located in the beautiful countryside of County Mayo (Ireland).

Our CUPA Heavy 3 and CUPA 5 were considered the ideal choice for this residential housing. The buildings have been designed to complement their stunning surroundings.

Natural slate, which has a timeless character and warmth, was chosen for the project for its natural properties and beauty.

CUPA 3 HEAVY AND CUPA 5 NATURAL SLATE

CUPA natural slate

CUPA Heavy 3 is a distinctive blue-black natural slate with a riven surface. Split into thicknesses of between 7-10 mm, CUPA Heavy 3 natural slate is exceptionally hardwearing, being virtually impervious to the elements. Our natural slate is ideally suited to Ireland's landscape and Atlantic climate.

CUPA 5, a pale grey natural slate, was also used on the development. Split to a thickness of 5mm, our natural slate is available in a variety of formats including square, rectangular, rounded and rustic.

A HIGH QUALITY NATURAL SLATE

CUPA natural slateAusten and Michael Gibbons of Gibbons Developments explain why natural slate was the perfect choice for the development:

Due to its exclusive location it was essential to design and finish the development to the highest standard, using natural materials wherever possible. Working closely with our local merchant, Western Slate & Stone Ltd., we were able to achieve roof finishes in high quality natural slate from CUPA PIZARRAS.

Our merchant devised a programme where we used a different slate on each house type, this resulted in a variety in character, which complemented the other exterior materials and beautiful surroundings.
