CUPA PIZARRAS natural slate in St. Francis, the first Cancer Support Centre in Lithuania
CUPA PIZARRAS covers Saint Francis Oncological Centre, the first Cancer Support centre in Lithuania, located in Klaipèda.
The project, a non-profit public body, was constructed to improve the quality of life of cancer sufferers and the caring members of their families.
The roofing, a total surface of 1,100 square meters, used our CUPA Heavy 98 natural slate, enhancing the natural beauty of surrounding architecture .
CUPA 98 FOR MODERN AND TRADITIONAL BUILDINGS
CUPA 98 is a rustic, blue grey slate with a rough texture and thick grain, with non-rusting metallic particles.
It s suitable for both modern and traditional buildings, with the premier grades being more consistent.
Rectangular in format slate, it is split to 5.5 mm and 8 mm for the Heavy variant.
Our natural slate is also resilient to the weather.
A FRIARY AND A GALLERY FOR ART THERAPY
Designed by the architects Rimmaudo Nunzio and Saulius Plungė, the project includes a friary with 10 cells, covered by CUPA 98 natural slate.
This centre, set up by the Lithuanian St. Casimir Province of the Order of Friars Minor in Lithuania, has also a chapel, an information and support centre for cancer patients, a gallery for art therapy exhibitions, a sports complex, two parking-lots, three gardens and three ponds.
