CUPACLAD proves its seismic resistance in rigorous CSTB tests

We are proud to announce that CUPACLAD, our natural slate rainscreen cladding system, has successfully passed the most demanding seismic tests carried out at the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB), France’s leading authority for technical assessment and certification of building products.

The tests, conducted at the CSTB’s facilities in Paris, simulated various seismic scenarios to evaluate the system’s performance under horizontal movements, strong vibrations, and structural deformations.

The results were conclusive: CUPACLAD maintained its stability, strength, and dimensional integrity across all building categories, from cottages to hospitals and even nuclear plants. These outstanding results were consistent in both available substructure configurations, whether using metal or timber horizontal profiles.

The system achieved the laboratory’s highest level of seismic performance without any cracks or residual deformation.

Consequently, the results endorse CUPACLAD’s reliability and suitability even in areas of high seismic activity, ensuring the safety and performance of the system under the most demanding conditions.

These tests were conducted in France, where construction laboratories are among the strictest in the world, and they demonstrate that all CUPACLAD 101 systems meet standards suitable for installation in any country, providing confidence in their performance wherever they are used.
