The Scottish company CP Roofing Solutions was the winner of the UK stage in our Best of the Best contest. We speak to director Chris Shaw about the impact of this experience, the current state of the roofing market in Scotland and, of course, what it’s like to work with our HEAVY 3. “We sleep well at night knowing we are fitting a product that’s built to last, growing our reputation with it”, he says.

CUPA PIZARRAS – Congratulations on winning Best of the Best – UK Group. How do you feel about it and what does this recognition mean for CP Roofing Solutions?

Chris Shaw – This is a massive achievement for our company. We are small company with 6 men competing with large companies all over the UK. I’m very proud of the team we have created and how our standard of work is being recognised.

CP – How would you describe your overall experience taking part in the Best of the Best competition, and would you recommend other roofing companies to take part?

CS – It has been an amazing experience and can’t thank CUPA enough for being a part of it. We have received many calls for quoting on various projects due to this and would strongly recommend all companies to get involved next year.

CP – You work extensively with our HEAVY 3 slate. What do you value most about this product?

CS – HEAVY 3 slates are the very best slate on the market. This ensures a high-quality finish that makes our job so much easier. We sleep well at night knowing we are fitting this product that’s built to last growing our reputation with it.

CP – How important is the relationship with manufacturers like CUPA PIZARRAS in delivering high-quality roofing projects?

CS – We have a very good relationship with CUPA which has been built over 8years in business. Our customers feel safe using their product on their roof through being a very well world known company. For us as contractors using their product we can happily stand by their product with pride.

CP – Thinking more broadly about the industry: how would you describe the current state of the roofing business in Scotland, and what trends are you seeing?

CS – The roofing business in Scotland is thriving. There are many high-quality companies using CUPA slate and taking pride in their work forcing other to level up. It’s up-to us to educate customers and provide the best service possible. Overall it’s good for everyone out there.
