Façade Awards UK and Pitched Roofing Awards

We are delighted to share that multiple CUPA PIZARRAS projects have been shortlisted in the 2025 Façade Awards UK and Pitched Roofing Awards, showcasing the innovative use of natural slate across a range of high-profile developments. Overall, these nominations reflect the quality, versatility, and sustainability of CUPA PIZARRAS products in both modern and heritage settings.

Façade Awards UK 2025 Shortlist

Best New Build Project (Domestic):

  • Little Eversden, Cambridgeshire.
A striking new home, Little Eversden integrates three CUPA PIZARRAS systems into one unified slate design. For shallow slopes, Roof Brothers overcame a stringent ridge‑height restriction and strict material mandate to deliver a cohesive natural slate finish inside and out.
  • Rosebury Farm, Hertfordshire.
Roof Brothers was appointed to reinstate the slate façade on three contemporary, energy‑efficient homes designed by Squared Architects. The team specified CUPACLAD® 101 Logic rainscreen cladding to meet perfectly the architect’s sustainability targets.

Best New Build Project (Education Setting):

  • Greenstone Primary School, Coalville.
Designed by Lungfish Architects and built by Linear Developments, this pioneering forest school comprises six single‑storey pavilions. Each building features CUPACLAD® 101 Logic on the two gable ends and an upper elevation, totalling 1 000 m² of natural slate façade.

Pitched Roofing Awards 2025 Shortlist

Best Use of Slate for a Domestic Project:

  • Little Eversden, Cambridgeshire.
Also shortlisted in the pitched roofing category, this project exemplifies how multiple slate systems can be combined to meet exacting design and planning constraints, unifying roof and façade in perfect harmony.
  • Royal Meadows (Former Royal Hospital for Sick Children), Edinburgh.
Phase 1 of this Grade B-listed Edinburgh redevelopment saw John Fulton Plumbing & Roofing install 1 300 m² of CUPA Heavy 3 slates. Intricate detailing around stepped gables, turrets and bell towers demonstrates the team’s craftsmanship and respect for historic fabric.
  • Candlemas, Surrey.
This project submitted by Butler Brothers as they showcase their recent residential work with CUPA PIZARRAS slate.

Innovative Product of the Year:

  • READYSLATE® by CUPA PIZARRAS.
Shortlisted in the Innovative Product of the Year Category, READYSLATE® is the first pre-assembled natural slate roofing system designed for low-pitched roofs (down to 12.5°). It bridges the gap between design ambition and performance, while maintaining a low environmental footprint.
