CUPA 12 natural slate gives a modern twist on traditional charm in Norfolk

Nestled in the historic village of Old Buckenham, this property unfolds with multiple buildings, including the main house, lodge, pool house and garage. Homeowners decided to refurbish them over several phases, looking for authenticity and enduring quality.

The contractor, Aspect Group Services, worked closely with the homeowners throughout the entire process, providing expert advice. “The owners bought the property eight years ago and have been slowly refurbishing it,” explains Matt Dillon, Owner Director at the company.

An important part of the renovation included the installation of new natural slate roofs.

To achieve this, they contacted the CUPA PIZARRAS team and the local merchant AJW Distribution. After a brief  consultation, all parties agreed that the best option was CUPA R12 Excellence. Matt affirms:

“Aesthetics were important to the project, and as we’ve used CUPA PIZARRAS slate before, we were confident of the quality of the product and the overall service we would receive from the company.”

Homeowners are delighted with the process, which has transformed a traditional brick property into a striking and contemporary family residence. The new natural slate roofs enhance the visual allure of the area and harmonize seamlessly with the surroundings.

CUPA R12 is one of the best natural slates available in the market, renowned for its unparalleled qualities. Its distinguished reputation is a testament to years of consistently delivering top-tier results, making it a trusted choice.

Matt Dillon confirms CUPA 12 excellence in both aesthetics and performance:

“I like the guaranteed consistency of appearance from CUPA R12. With lower specification products you can get impurities in the slate and colour variance, which can stand out on larger roof areas. They can also be quite brittle, which means there is a lot of wastage. You get none of this with CUPA R12.”

Natural slate was installed carefully in all the buildings using copper nails, providing a smooth, uniform appearance which was important for this refurbishment.
